Description

The Hepburn model is a double-breasted cape, featuring arm openings and pockets. Loosely inspired by the style icon it is named after, it was worn by the actress during her first visit to Venice in the 1950s. Hepburn stands out for charm and elegance.

Sizes

The tabarro has no sizes because it is made as a full circle. Each model has its own dimensions, related to its function: traditionally, a greater length was a sign of elegance and distinction.

The tabarro is one of the most representative garments of Italian tradition. Born as an overcoat between the Middle Ages and the modern era, it was worn over the centuries by merchants, travelers, officials, and peasants, becoming a symbol of protection, elegance, and belonging.

After falling out of use in the post-war period, it was revived in the 1970s thanks to careful historical and tailoring research. Today, the tabarro comes back to life as a timeless garment, faithful to its origins and made according to passed-down manufacturing rules, designed to be worn once again.

Entirely handmade according to ancient manufacturing rules, a long full-circle tabarro requires up to six meters of fabric, cut in pairs and joined with a single continuous seam.

The carded wool, compact and heavy (not less than 390–400 gr/mq), is worked without a hem, as tradition dictates, and is based on research from historical archives between the 19th and early 20th centuries.
